Nets and Dyna’s Ravens will then go head to head in the second match at 7:30pm while Courts Pacesetters will oppose Pepsi Sonics in an Open quarterfinal match.

Tuesday’s action in the feature match saw Alwyn Bellamy and Travis Foster, who scored 19 and 18 points, leading Scorpions past their rivals with support from Trevor McLeod (15).

Desmond Chin was the top scorer for Colts with 15 points while Enoch Matthews and Vivian Aulder with 10 points, were the only other players to reach double figures.

The first half was closely contested and ended 40 – 38 in Bounty Colts’ favour.
However, Beepat Scorpi-ons applied the pressure, regained the lead and held on for the win. The other Open match was a low scoring encounter which saw Pepsi Sonics leading 36 – 18 at half time. In the second half of the game Maccabees tried to stage a comeback with Hodyah Stewart leading the way but his efforts proved futile in the end. Stewart scored eight points while Darren Thomas and Devon Cameron added six and five points respectively for Maccabees while Hollingsworth Casey (12), Ryan Melville (8) and Rawle Whyte (5) were the highest scorers for the eventual victors. Earlier, the Bounty Colts third division team had a horrific fourth period as they boiled down to just two players remaining in the game as the remainder of the team had fouled out.

Dexter Walcott, Kacy Bowen, Keyon Rhobe and T. Joaquin were ejected for Colts while S. Scotland, Adrian Adams and Lance Gouveia fouled out for Scorpions.

Colts commanded the first three periods with Quincy Newton and Dorwayne Walcott top scoring with 23 points each but it became a stroll in the park for the Scorpions when their five players overpowered the opposition’s two after being down by eight points (73-65).

Shelroy Thomas ended up as the top scorer for Scorpions with 20 points while Gouveia inputted 18 before he was ejected.
