GWI responded to report of leaks on Facebook

Dear Editor,

This is truly the information tech age, and even corporate Guyana is meandering its way onto the information superhighway. About two weeks ago, I added Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) to my Facebook friends list. I seized the opportunity about a week ago to post a complaint on GWI’s profile about two leaks: one at Esplanade Road in New Amsterdam in that a PVC blue hose was stuck out at the corner of an abandoned house, running all day and night; and the other, a leak just in front of where I live. After about two mild reminders and one exchange of email with the PRO of the company, the leaks were finally fixed, today, Monday, November 30.

I posted a thank-you note on Facebook and also got one in return for reporting the leaks. I suppose that’s the power of the internet again at work. Note carefully, I did not pick up at any time a telephone, nor did I put pen to paper to write a complaint. You could even say that I did not even send an email. GWI acted on the information I provided on their Facebook account. Now isn’t that the way to go!

So, I am wondering if GPL has one too. I’d be the first to add them.
Yours faithfully,
Leon J. Suseran
