Two national days of mourning for Mrs Jagan

Tomorrow and Tuesday have been designated national days of mourning throughout Guyana and books of condolence will be opened in honour of the late former president, Mrs Janet Jagan, the Office of the President (OP) announced last evening.

According to a statement from OP in honour and tribute to her memory and as an expression of public sorrow, the Guyana flag at all public buildings will be flow at half mast.

Guyana representatives in foreign countries will be making arrangements to also display the flag at half mast over their embassies, consulate offices and other facilities, OP said.

The statement further added that the official books of condolence will be opened to the public at the National Cultural Centre, Parliament buildings and the Cheddi Jagan Research Centre from 2 pm – 8 pm today and from 8 am – 8 pm tomorrow.
