With one round left in the Western Union First Division League which is organized by the Georgetown Football Association (GFA), Riddim Squad remain unbeaten and command the leader board with 21 points.

They have won all seven of their matches to get them up to 21 points ahead of Santos, who are second with 18 points.

Riddim Squad’s latest victory was over the third place holder, Uprising (16p), who lost 2 – 3 on Sunday afternoon at the Camptown ground.

Both Uprising and Huston Stars are tied on 16 points but Uprising are ahead on superior goal difference.

The eventual victors drew first blood in the 40th minute through a Seeyon Hope strike, then the opposition equalized the very next minute, compliments of John Fecker.

At the resumption of the second half Riddim Squad’s James Romain was able to break the deadlock in the 60th minute with a well placed shot to the left of the goal after he received a good ball from midfield and broke away from the defenders.

Not long after, the team from Mocha recorded their third goal via a penalty kick that was taken by Sheldon Hope.

Hope’s first shot was blocked by the custodian and  it rebounded back to Hope and he easily thumped it into the back of the net in the 84th minute. It was evident that Uprising’s fitness was not at its best since their defense kept withering as the match went on and the opposition kept exploiting it.

However, Riddim Squad were unable to score again although having the easiest of chances when they defeated the backline and had to get past the goalkeeper.

Uprising’s final goal came from a free kick about 23 yards out that was taken by Daniel Favourite in the 69th minute. His kick deflected off of a defender and slightly changed its course and made its way past the diving goal keeper who was having a good day between the uprights.
