GPHC managing Kitty, Industry health centres

The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) will be managing the Kitty and Industry health centres this year.

GPHC Chief Executive Officer Michael Khan made this disclosure during a recent interview with the Government Information Agency (GINA). He said the GPHC continues to strive to meet the goals set out by the Ministry of Health. He said the hospital is currently finalising a 2009 service agreement and is waiting for a new one for 2010. Khan said too the Enmore poly-clinic, which President Bharrat Jagdeo re-opened a few years ago, is fulfilling its mandate.

GINA said in recent years huge sums were used to rehabilitate several health institutions including the health centres. Centres which benefited from these works are the Plaisance, Beterverwagting, Lusignan, Buxton, Enterprise, Melanie Damishana, Enmore, Nabaclis, Victoria, Clonbrook, Meten-Meer-Zorg and Canal Number One Polder.
