St Lucia Martial Arts Festival… Harpy Eagle Martial Arts Academy swoops 16 medals

A five-member team from the Harpy Eagle Martial Arts Academy returned to Guyana with a total 16 medals after attending  the 2010  Martial Arts Festival hosted by the Association of Professional Martial Arts at the Rex Hotel in Rodney Bay, St Lucia.

Under the guidance of sensei Troy Bobb, the participants ranging from ages 5-35  were able to acquire 10 gold, four silver and two bronze medals.

The competition had 250 martial artists coming from the USA, England, Japan, Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Guyana and the host country St Lucia.

The Harpy Eagles expressed sincere gratitude to the residents  of Buxton and Beterverwagting (BV), the parents of the three children, the Director of Apex Academy Shazad Alli and the Ministry of Sports and Director of Sports Neil Kumar.

The team noted that without their generous support their trip to St Lucia would not have been a reality.

Up next, the Harpy Eagles Martial Arts Academy will be aiming to attend the March 25 to 28 US Karate Alliance 2010 National Tournament in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
