As the Hindu community celebrates the festival of Phagwah, Georgetown Mayor Hamilton Green called for the nation to spare a thought for Guyana and the wider world, which he noted faces economic and moral contortions.
In his annual message, Mayor Green stated that Hinduism is essentially a search for liberation and love.
According to the Mayor, Hindus constitute the largest religious group, stating that the responsibility to give the nation guidance rest on their shoulders.
