The two gunmen, who fatally shot a Canada-based Guyanese during a robbery at Cool Square bar on Wednesday night, were still at-large up to press time last evening.

Police officials said yesterday that investigations are continuing and that the hunt was still on for the perpetrators. It is unclear if any positive identification has been made from the images taken by the surveillance cameras set up at the business.

Investigations revealed that overseas-based Guyanese Rawle Harding, of Lamaha Springs, was at Cool Square when two men entered and purchased alcoholic beverages. They then pulled out handguns and confronted Harding, who was shot when he resisted an attempt by the men to remove his gold chain.

The two armed men then took away Harding’s jewellery, a billfold containing cash and documents, and two cell phones along with $15,000 and jewellery from another man. They also grabbed an undisclosed sum of cash and a quantity of cell phone cards from the abandoned bar area and escaped.

Harding was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where he succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
