Dear Editor,
On behalf of the citizens of Georgetown, the George-town municipality and my wife and family, I offer greetings to the UN for highlighting the important and significant occasion of International Women’s Day. To select a day to honour and remember our women is laudable. As we pay homage to every woman, I wish to emphasize a related subject, that is, the importance of marriage and family, to securing the integrity and well-being of our society.
Good marriages and harmonious families are the foundation upon which we need to build the moral fabric of society, and the major pillar in the foundation of Guyana.
