The expo, which is expected to be bigger than last year’s, will seek to provide linkages between consumers and entrepreneurs.

The event which is organised by Roraima Airways will include an array of exhibitors from Guyana’s service sector so as to provide a one stop, solution centre and to create the ultimate wedding experience. The feature fashion show will be coordinated by Olympia Small-Sonaram.

Capt Gerry Gouveia, Head of Roraima Group said the event will build on last year’s successes and the lessons learnt from the Jamaican Wedding Expo which is in its 17th year. He added that this year will feature Amerindian wedding attire so as to cover the culture and diversity of the Guyanese people.

Meanwhile, Harold Singh of the Guyana Tourism

Authority in his remarks, praised the Roraima Group for its initiative in hosting the event. He said the venture is fully supported by the tourism authority and will be a yearly feature on Guyana’s Events calendar.

Last year’s door prize winner of a six-day honeymoon stay at the Jamaica Pegasus, Paul John was presented with his ticket compliments of Caribbean Airlines at the launch. He thanked the organizers for the expo which he deemed informative and educational for prospective married couples.

Attendees were treated to a mini display of attire representative of Christian, African and Hindu weddings.
