Food for the Poor donates supplies to TB programme

Food for the Poor Guyana Incorporated donated a quantity of medical supplies and equipment valued $500,000 to the Guyana Chest Society to enhance the National Tuberculosis (TB) programme.

In a press release the charity said the donation included wheelchairs, soap, hand sanitizers and x-ray viewers. Senior Public Relations officer at the charity Camille Liladri handed over the items to Dr Jeetendra Mohanlall, director of the National TB programme, in the compound of the Georgetown Public Hospital.

The charity said it has worked closely with the Guyana Chest Society and with the previously recorded Medical Outreach Programme last October in the Little Red Village which the NGO built at Onderneeming, Essequibo.
