April 1 new deadline for Heroes Save Lives contest

The Heroes Save Lives contest, which is to recognise outstanding individuals who serve those affected and infected with HIV/AIDS, has a new deadline-Thursday, April 1, 2010.

The US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Heroes, Going Above and Beyond contest, which highlights the contribution of outstanding individuals or organisations in the fight against global HIV/AIDS, invites nominations of individuals and groups who have profoundly affected the AIDS community through their work with HIV/AIDS programmes supported by the United States.

According to a press release from the US Embassy, Georgetown, in order to nominate an individual or organisation, nomination packets, containing the profile of their PEPFAR heroes, should be addressed to:

The Public Affairs Assistant–PEPFAR,

Embassy of the United States of America,

Georgetown.

And these nomination packets must be submitted to the Young Street entrance of the US Embassy.  Any electronic information must be submitted on a CD.

The top heroes will be highlighted through success stories, website features, exhibits and other venues. Additionally, selected heroes will have their stories showcased at the International AIDS Conference in Vienna, Austria, and posted on PEPFAR.gov and YouTube, the release added.
