Beach clean-up underway for Easter activities

Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Manniram Prashad said enhancement works at Hope, and No. 7 and 8 beaches are on stream and will be ready for the annual Easter kite flying activities.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release, Prashad visited the areas to check on works after published reports that they were in a deplorable state and not fit to host the annual Easter kite flying competition and Chutney beach jam. “As you can see, works are currently in progress… I must assure you that works will be done at the stipulated timeframe and the beach will be ready in time for the upcoming celebrations,” Prashad said.

At Hope beach, Prashad said the bridge used to traverse to and from the beach will be renovated with eight more 2×4 planks and rails.
