Visitors who went to Bartica to enjoy the Regatta had a difficult time getting transportation back to the city yesterday. There was a long wait as only a few boats worked. On Saturday scores of people were stranded on the Parika Stelling for hours as boats were few and far off. Reports reaching Stabroek News are that on Saturday boat operators did not want to work because they were not allowed to charge more than $2,000. Yesterday several operators chose not to work because they did not want to stay at Parika nor travel back to Bartica empty.
