Ready to take flight

Police in ‘B’ Division made 150 underprivileged children in Berbice happy when they distributed kites to them on Sunday, in time for Easter.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Stephen Mansell, who heads the West Berbice district, handed over 50 kites to children of Bath Settlement, No. 11 Village, Hopetown, Rosignol and other areas in West Berbice.

The children were presented with their kites at the Bath Community Centre Ground and were very excited and “wanted more.” Over in New Amsterdam, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Leroy Albert distributed 100 kites to the children in Angoy’s Avenue.

The distribution of the kites was part of the Face the Community programmes organised by ranks in ‘B’ Division. In photo, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Stephen Mansell (at right) and others pose with the children and their kites.
