Touched: The driver of this mini-bus lost control as he headed east on the East Coast Demerara highway and hit this traffic light at the Sheriff street junction yesterday. The incident occurred at around 1:20pm and according to the driver, the traffic light had indicated stop and when he attempted to brake, nothing happened. He swerved onto the embankment and skidded on the mud before hitting the traffic light. The lights fell. There were only two passengers in the bus at the time, according to the conductor. One woman reportedly sustained minor injuries.
