Simon, Miles and Stoby top GABBFF c/ships

Michael Simon emerged as the overall winner in the Guyana Amateur Body Building and Fitness Federation (GABBFF) Novices and Intermediate competitions in Berbice over the Easter weekend at the New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) auditorium.

Track athlete Letitia Miles copped the Ms. Body Fitness prize and, along with Simon, will receive six months of supplements from Health Path Fitness store located in the Harbour Bridge Mall.

Godfrey Stoby was the overall winner in the Intermediate division.

President of GABBFF Fiona Harris indicated via e-mail that the other first place winners will benefit from hampers that will come from Fitness Express on Sherriff Street.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old Rudolph Blackman, of Tritons Gym, strutted his way to the bantamweight title while Devon Davis of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Gym and Cordell Carryl were second and third respectively. In the 70kg (144-154lbs) weight class Brian Gomes finished atop the group with Victor Logan and Roger Callendar placing second and third.

Michael Simon of the GDF gained the advantage in the welterweight division (75kg) and Jermaine Sealey of Total Fitness Gym took the light middleweight (80kg) title. On the distaff side, Kascia Beaton and Daeseia Junor, of GDF, had to settle for second and third behind Miles while 400m athlete Shannah Thornhill placed last in the division.
