A Brazilian miner met his demise on Saturday when a tree fell and crushed him at a mining operation in the hinterland.
According to the police, 47-year-old Anton Dos Angos Silva was ‘jetting’ a mining pit at Winiperu Backdam, Konawaruk around 11.30 am when a tree fell and crushed him.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mahdia Hospital.
