President of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Colin Klass feels that this country could move rapidly in the Futsal ranking as the local governing body for football launched another FIFA sponsored Futsal Coaching Course yesterday at Banks DIH Sports Club, Thirst Park.
The five-day Course is being conducted by FIFA Coaching Instructor Constantine Konstine of the United States and is attracting 20 participants including one female from clubs around the country.

Klass who declared the programme open called on the participants to impart knowledge gained from the Course so that football locally could benefit.

“We would have all failed if your knowledge is not passed on to others”, he cautioned.
Klass who is the Chairman of the CONCACAF (the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football)  Futsal Committee and a leading member at FIFA level said he expects to see an acceleration to the top of the world ranking since every effort is being made to push Guyana’s Futsal development.

According to the GFF head, Futsal (five-aside Indoor Football) has taken off internationally similar to  that of 20/20 cricket.
Klass said the Lady Jaguars are setting high standards so other sectors of football in Guyana would have to work much harder.
He thanked Banks DIH for continuing to place confidence in football locally and for offering its support for the Course.
The local beverage giants, bottlers of Coca Cola came forward to assist in sponsoring the five-day programme.

Banks Sales and Marketing Executive Carlton Joao said that his company was pleased to be partnering with the  GFF on this programme. According to Joao the Coca Cola Company is a major sponsor of two of the world’s premier events, FIFA’s World Cup and the Olympic Games. Konstine in giving the overview said that programme is geared to motivate and inspire the coaches so that one day Guyana football will be the best. GFF General Secretary Noel Adonis chaired the opening ceremony attended by several football officials.
The Course runs until Sunday at Banks Sports Club.
