Cabinet green-lights over $750M in public works contracts

Cabinet has given the go-ahead to eight contracts valued over $750 million in the public works sector.

According to a Govern-ment Information Agency press release, the contracts were green-lighted at the last Cabinet meeting. The contracts are for road upgrades at two lots in Westminster, Region Three valued $250 million, the construction of roads, drainage structures and the installation of pure water supply in Lot Five, Ankerville, Region Six valued $54.4 million and a contract valued  $95.3 million for the construction and upgrade of roads, in area R,  Ankerville, Region Six.

Contracts were also given for the construction of roads, drains and structures in Tabatinga, Lethem, Region Nine, costing $117.2 million, the rehabilitation of roads in La Penitence valued $21.4 million, the rehabilitation of roads in the North West District valued $162.3 million and the construction of roads, drains and structures at Eliza and Mary, Region Six valued $50 million.
