This bridge at Parika Backdam Road, East Bank Essequibo and the stretch of road on either side of it are in need of urgent repairs. Boards from a section of the bridge have come loose and the road is scattered with sizable potholes. For more than a year now, residents told this newspaper, a contract was granted for the works to be done and still it has not commenced.
