BFA Coca Cola tourney top performers rewarded

All the top teams and top individual performers of the just-concluded Berbice Football Association (BFA) Coca Cola knockout football tournament were rewarded at the Winners Circle, Night Spot recently.

Rosignol United received $300,000 and the championship trophy while Monedderlust bagged $150,000 for second place.

Cougars and New Amsterdam received $100,000 and $50,000 for third and fourth respectively.

Rosignol’s Roncy Caleb, who was outstanding between the uprights and kept a clean sheet, was adjudged the best goalkeeper while Cougars’ Winston Benjamin who scored nine goals was adjudged the highest goal scorer.

Olvis Mitchell of Rosignol United was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP).

The presentation ceremony was attended by all eight clubs that participated in the tournament, each of whom was presented with a World Cup replica football.

Banks DIH Sales Representatives Joshua Torrezao and Bradford Peterkin were present to distribute the prizes.

Torrezao, who monitored the progress of the tournament, expressed satisfaction with the organizing of the tournament by the BFA and the successful conclusion.

Senior Cougars member Phillip Carrington along with the President and Secretary of the BFA expressed their gratitude to the sponsor for making the tournament a success.
