Hasmoo wins 50-mile cycle road race

Wazim Hasmoo receives his trophy for his first place finish in the 50-mile race, to the left of Hasmoo is Neil Reece.

With a time of two hours and 10 minutes Wazim Hasmoo rode away with the first place in the 50-mile Mr and Mrs Ramsarran Singh Memorial Cycle Road Race that was held last week Sunday in Berbice.

Organised by the Flying Ace Cycling club, the race started in front of Paul Singh’s Snackette, Port Mourant and spanned the distance to the Number 66 Bridge, Corentyne before returning to end at the starting point. Finishing behind Hasmoo was Neil Reece, who complemented his performance by earning eight of the race’s prime prizes.

Hasmoo collected the other two.
Coming in third was Nashane Jandoo, followed by Ray Millington, while Rohan Persaud was fifth.

In the junior category, Reece got his chance to shine coming in first in the race followed by Jandoo, while Millington was third.

In a juvenile event Juba Crawford was able to take a first, and for the female 10-mile race Colette Lambert was first.

The event was sponsored by the Singhs, and at the end of the races the winners were presented with their prizes by their great grandsons – Rishal and Jaroop Singh.
