The Women’s Progressive Organisation (WPO) says it is extremely distressed at the recent upsurge in cases of maternal deaths which appear to have been the result of negligence by medical personnel but the body also noted that there are thousands and thousands of success stories by those who have received treatment at these institutions.
The WPO in a press release on Wednesday observed that there are some pregnancies which are very risky and often it is difficult to predict the outcome although the necessary steps are taken. However, the WPO added,
