Two miners were reportedly tied up before being robbed at gunpoint at Turtle Creek Backdam, Issano last Saturday.
Police said in a press release that investigations have revealed that Jailall Gossai, 36, of West Coast Berbice, and Quincy Marshall, 29, of Hogg Street, Albouystown, were in their mining camp when they were attacked by two men armed with firearms. They were tied up by the men who took away a quantity of raw gold and escaped.
Investigations are continuing into the matter.
