A woman accused of dealing a man a sound licking was yesterday placed on $5,000 bail when she appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The allegation against Joy Brummell, of 39 La Grange, West Bank Demerara, is that on April 26, at Georgetown, she assaulted Peter Harvey so as to cause him actual bodily harm. The mother of two pleaded not guilty to the charge of unlawful assault when it was read to her by the acting chief magistrate.
