The first housing scheme in Region Six (East Berbice/Corentyne) was commissioned at Glasgow, New Amsterdam on Friday by Minister of Housing and Water Irfaan Ali, the Government Information Agency (GINA) reported.
Ali handed over responsibility of the scheme to Local Government Minister Kellawan Lall, who in turn vested the responsibility of the scheme to New Amsterdam Mayor Claude Henry.
The municipality also received a $28M multipurpose building, the first of four to be commissioned
