Unknown persons broke into the Campbellville Post Office some time between Friday night and early yesterday morning and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after torching a safe.
Details of the incident are sketchy and officials of the post office declined to comment when Stabroek News visited around 10 am. The post office has been closed until further notice.
The security guard who was supposedly on duty is being questioned by the police.
