A 45-year-old chainsaw operator was yesterday sentenced to four years imprisonment after being found guilty by the court of cultivating cannabis.
Dereck Persaud of Kuru Kuru College, Soesdyke-Linden Highway begged for mercy before the sentence was handed down by acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
