The New Amsterdam Warriors Basketball ‘A’ team are now $70,000 richer after winning the Godwin McPherson Foundation Mashramani Basketball tournament Sunday at the Litchfield Basketball Court. After getting past Fyrish 35-20 in the semi finals, Warriors went to the finals of the competition and defeated the home team, Litchfield 43-28 to bag the top prize.
Warriors’ Randy Richardson scored a game high 14 points in the finals with Carlos Crandon adding 13 to the Warriors’ total.
Richardson and Crandon also led their team’s scoring in the semi-finals with 13 and 10 points respectively. Yannick Wade was the top scorer for Litchfield in the final
