Butcher struck down by car has 50/50 chance

Relatives of the butcher who was struck down by a car on Monday evening are clinging to prayers for his safe recovery although doctors said his chances are 50/50.

Gilbert Wharton, 21, of Laing Avenue is nursing a broken jaw, extensive facial damage, a broken left hand and leg injuries in the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Wharton had left work on Monday evening
