Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Thursday sentenced a man to six months imprisonment, after he admitted to assaulting his ex-girlfriend because she refused to rekindle a relationship with him.
John Isaacs, 30, of 141 Bombay Terrace, Prashad Nagar, pleaded guilty to the assault of Tenisha Chance. He committed the offence on January 22, at the Jubilee Resort. Isaacs was also charged with using threatening language to the woman on the same day but he denied the charge.
