‘Gentleman’ jailed over phone theft

A mason was yesterday sentenced to three months in jail after admitting that he stole a nursery school teacher’s cellular phone.

Joel Jordan, 26, of Durban Street, Lodge admitted to the larceny charge when it was read to him by acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. According to the facts on the case, Jordan, on March 22 at South Road, Bourda, stole a Motorola cellular phone valued at $35,000, the property of Marlene Williams.
