Miner and conductor accused of stealing over $200,000 in clothing

A miner and a minibus conductor were both granted bail in the sum of $40,000 each after they appeared yesterday before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton accused of stealing clothing valued at over $200,000.

It is alleged that between December 20 and 30, 2010, Anton Evans and Obel Prass stole a quantity of clothing valued at $210,000, property of Patricia Crossman. They were not required to plead to the indictable charge of simple larceny when it was read to them at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
