Taxi driver granted bail over Essequibo road death

A taxi-driver accused of causing the death of a greens vendor last Friday by driving in a dangerous manner was granted bail when he appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Oswald Boston, 47, of 153 Crane Squatting Area, West Coast Demerara was not required to plead to the indictable charge of causing death by dangerous driving and was granted bail in the sum of $250,000 by Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin. It is alleged that on April 15 at the Orangestein, East Bank Essequibo, public road, Boston drove motor car HB 7753 in a manner dangerous to the public thereby causing the death of Steve Rogers.
