Jamaican charged in Cummings Lodge gun, ammo find

Teckle Ellis, one of three Jamaican men arrested on Monday after a police raid at Cummings Lodge, was yesterday charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Ellis, 34, pleaded not guilty to charges when they were read by Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court. It was alleged that on May 9, at Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, he had in his possession eight live rounds of .45 ammunition and seventeen .38 rounds, without being the holder of a licence, as well as a .45 Glock Pistol,
