Brazilian accused of forging passport stamp, remanded

Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton remanded a Brazilian national accused of forging an extension of stay stamp in his passport, when he yesterday appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation against Ildo Santos Gomez Barosso is that on July 18, at the Ogle Airport, East Coast Demerara, with intent to defraud, he uttered to Constable Wellington, an Immigration Officer, a Brazilian passport numbered FD723463, with a false extension of stay permit dated May 31, 2011 to October 30, 2011.
