A man was yesterday charged with stealing $300,000 from his ex-girlfriend’s bank account.
Carl Higgins was placed on bail by acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. Higgins, of Lot V Bent Street, denied the charged that he stole the money from Shauna Wallace, between January 1 and July 6.
Prosecutor Venetta Pindar told the court that Higgins and Wallace shared a relationship. During the month of January, she said, Wallace deposited some money into her bank account but later discovered that some of it was missing. She, however, did not
