Roger Khan ‘compromised’ gov’t, Bullen told D.C

Former US Ambassador to Guyana Roland Bullen considered the Government of Guyana (GoG) to be so compromised by drug lord Roger Khan that he told his bosses in Washington, D.C that nothing would be done about him, while saying Khan and a former government official were instrumental in a “phantom” death squad.

In a cable dated February 1, 2006, titled “Shaheed ‘Roger’ Khan: Guyana’s own Esco-bar?”, released via Wiki-Leaks, Bullen said of the situation: “Multiple sources have expressed fears to Ambassa-dor that not only has Khan penetrated almost every level of Guyanese government and society, but that he will exert ever greater influence over
