The Guyana Islamic Trust (GIT) commends the nation for the peace and harmony demonstrated before, during and after the conduct of the elections, and urges that such standards are maintained in the aftermath.
In a press release, the GIT noted that even as Guyana held its poll, similar polls were being held in Egypt and The Congo which were beset by violence and mayhem. It encouraged Guyanese to continue to maintain peace and harmony.
