These women were busy on Christmas Eve baking their Christmas cake and bread for their pepperpot in this mud oven belonging to Corlet Thom of No 4 Village, West Coast Berbice. She told this newspaper that baking for the holidays started from last Sunday, Dec 18. About eight women from the village would mix their cakes at home and take them over to her yard to bake.
