Some 30 communications officers from the Government of Suriname paid a one day visit to Guyana on January 27, 2012. The group, drawn from staff from the Cabinet of the President, Cabinet of the Vice President, ministries and departments of government met Caricom Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque and staff of the secretariat for a briefing and discussion on pertinent community issues. Later in the day the group visited the Government Information Agency and the National Communications Network. The delegation was headed by Vivian Gordon, Permanent Secretary and Director in the Cabinet of the Vice President, and coordinated by Daniella Tauwnaar, of the Suriname Government Information Service.
