GPL poised to step up quality service with ISO certification

Officials of the power company hold certificates which indicate ISO conformity following Friday’s ceremony.

The Guyana Power and Light (GPL) is now in a position to assess its quality management system and provide for further customer satisfaction after aspects of the company’s operations were granted ISO certification.

Since 2008, the company has been working with overseas firm Qual-Eco to provide an enhanced service and on Friday Chairman of the Board of the entity, Winston Brassington, at the ISO 9001:2008 certification award ceremony at the company’s offices at Sophia said he was pleased that more than 40% of the company’s operations are now ISO certified.
