A post-mortem examination which was performed on Mahaica toddler Rebekah Seetaram who was bitten about her body by rats some three weeks ago revealed that several brain abscesses contributed to her death.
According to the police Public Relations Office, the PM which was conducted by Dr Bridgemohan on Friday last, indicated that the child died from meningoencephalitis (a disease which resembles meningitis as well as encephalitis, which is an infection or inflammation of the brain). This was compounded by brain abscesses.
A neighbour noted that the child’s family had been verbally abusing persons in the area since the authorities took away the 4 and 6 yr old children of the mother. The child’s neighbours noted that
