Corentyne mother and son brutalised in $1M robbery

Three unmasked armed bandits attacked and robbed a family of Number One Road, Corentyne on Thursday night of over $1 million in cash and jewellery.

Omawattie Prettipaul told this publication that the armed men rushed into her yard just before 8 o’clock. They directed her not to speak but she shouted for her son, Ravo, who was the only family member at home with her at the time. Because she called him, one of the men hit her with his gun and she lost consciousness for about ten to fifteen minutes.

Her son said he responded to his mother’s call and came face to face with the bandits, who collared him and took
