A man from Cullen, Essequibo was yesterday remanded on a firearm possession charge when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard that on Monday Jaiandan Sukhdeo of Cullen, Essequibo was in Morawhanna, Aruka River and had in his possession one 12-gauge shotgun without having a firearm licence. Police prosecutor Lionel Harvey in reading the facts said that on the day in question based on a report made by a woman that the defendant had made threats to her with the firearm,
