Soesdyke man critical after slashed in face with bottle

A 27-year-old taxi driver was said to be in a critical state at the Georgetown Public Hospital last evening after his face was disfigured by another man during a row at a shop at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara.

It is reported that Rohan Jagroop of Soesdyke was at a shop with a group of friends imbibing when an argument ensued between the him and another man, Ramo (only name given), who allegedly lashed him to the head with a vodka bottle then took the broken bottle and marked him several times on his face.
