Policewoman charged with demanding $10,000

A policewoman who allegedly demanded $10,000 from a man who along with another person no longer wanted to proceed with a matter was on Friday placed on $75,000 bail when she appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation against Corporal Sharon Logan is that on June 25 at the Kitty Police Station, being a public servant, she accepted $10,000 from Rawle Timothy for herself, as gratification other than legal remuneration for not instituting the appropriate charge resulting from a report made by Timothy.
