Western envoys urge national unity in wake of Linden killings

Envoys from the United States, Britain, Canada and the European Union yesterday called for all parties and stakeholders to work in the interest of national unity in the backdrop of the killing by police of three protesters in Linden on Wednesday.

A statement from the diplomatic representatives of Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America said that they wished to express their “profound regret at the tragic loss of life that took place July 18th in Linden.  We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives or suffered injury. “We appeal to all parties and stakeholders to work together in a spirit of national unity
