Persaud wins fifth round despite loss to Khan

Former national chess champion Kriskal Persaud makes a move against Anthony Drayton during Sunday’s fifth round of the inaugural Red Cherry tournament at the Kei-Shar’s Sports Club.

Despite losing to national chess champion Taffin Khan; former national champion Kriskal Persaud was declared the winner of the penultimate round of the inaugural Red Cherry ladder tournament on Sunday at the Kei-Shar’s Sports Club, Hadfield Street.

Persaud and Khan ended with the same score but Persaud was declared the winner on the tie-breaker system.
The win earned him a trophy, $5000 cash prize and a Red Cherry voucher.
